Visit us: We welcome you to come to our workshop, where you can try our instruments.
Please contact us one to two weeks before your planned visit to work out the details.
Try a Burkart at home: We offer a trial-by-mail policy. For a small fee which covers shipping and insurance, we will send flutes, piccolos, and/or headjoints right to you. You can test the instrument, and meet with colleagues and professors to gain their insight.
We may visit you: Our flute experts are road-warriors, traveling to flute events around the globe. These opportunities allow you to hear and feel the Burkart difference.

We must receive the authorization form before
we can ship.
It is our pleasure to extend to you the opportunity to try Burkart flutes, piccolos and headjoints. To best serve all of our customers, we have established the following terms and conditions:
We will ship anywhere in the USA (must be a valid shipping address; no PO boxes).
The trial period is 5 days (beginning the date after it is received). On the 6th day after receipt, the flute, piccolo, or headjoint(s) must be shipped back using Federal Express 2nd day service. The due date in your trial letter is the date upon which the instrument should be in our office. Please plan to ship two days prior to the expected return date. Do not insure the returning instruments, as your trial fee covers the cost of insurance during the entire trial period.
Prior to sending instruments on trial, we require a valid credit card number to be used as a security deposit. Our insurance carrier requires us to collect our authorization form prior to shipment. No trial can be initiated without a completed and signed copy of this form. We will only charge your credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover) for our shipping and insurance expenses as indicated below. However, in the unlikely event of damage to the instrument, all repairs will be charged to your credit card at our standard repair rate.
Trial shipments are subject to availability. While we do our best to keep demonstration instruments available, we have many customers requesting this service. We recommend scheduling as far in advance as possible.

Flute trials include 2 headjoints with each flute. Piccolo trials include up to 2 of the same style, to a maximum of 3 total headjoints.
If you do not choose a headjoint with your initial shipment, we will gladly send additional headjoints to you. The same trial fees will apply to these additional shipments.
We ship via Federal Express 2nd Day air. Overnight standard shipment or Overnight priority shipping or Saturday delivery will incur an additional charge based on the difference between 2nd Day Air shipping and the chosen method.
Our instruments are insured while they are in your possession and while in transit.
We recommend all shipments of instruments to Burkart use Federal Express 2nd Day Air. This is the safest and most economical method for such high value products.
It is not necessary to insure the flute when returning to us. We insure the flute while in transit and while in your possession.
