Elena Mitrofanova is a solo piccolo at the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra and winner of International Competitions. She studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Apart from the orchestra, Elena conducts concert activities: she has performed David Finko’s Piccolo Concerto with the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra, as well as performed Barry Mackimm Piccolo Concerto at the Mariinsky Theatre accompanied by the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. Furthermore, Elena teaches masterclasses and open lessons.
Elena owns a stunning Burkart piccolo model XXV with gold mechanism and rings. About her piccolo, Elena says “This piccolo has the most excellent quality. It has a wide and gentle sound. The intonation is just gorgeous! Musical pieces of any complexity can be performed on this amazing instrument.
