Experienced Flute and Piccolo Finisher

We are currently looking for a technician to join our team as a flute and piccolo finisher. Burkart is a 100% employee owned company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mechanical fine tuning of newly made key work
• Machine buffing of parts
• Fitting of joints and minor soft soldering
• Springing, padding, regulating and testing of new and repair flutes and piccolos
• Play testing of instruments at a professional level
• Detailing and packaging of completed instruments
• Operation of company production software

Requirements

• HS Diploma
• Completion of bachelor’s degree in flute performance or equivalent flute playing skills
• 3-5 years experience in manufacturing of new flutes/piccolos, or similar experience in flute/piccolo repair

• Proficient flute playing
• Ability to take instruction and critique
• Patience and attention to detail
• Excellent manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work through obstacles to meet challenging deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team to achieve company goals.
• Good vision for technical work
• Woodwind repair experience is a plus
